Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
In order to provide a safer environment, the University is placing AEDs in some buildings across campus. The AED is used for sudden cardiac arrest medical emergencies. While many of the devices provide voice instructions, AED training is recommended for users.
The University will offer AED and CPR training periodically, however groups may make a special request. Requests should be sent by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Register for AED training through the offiice of Human Resources online registration system. Type “AED” in the Search Catalog–Keywords. Select Search Catalog and a new page with scheduled courses will apprear. Follow the instructions to register for the class.
The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will routinely inspect and service the AEDs. Should a problem occur between inspections, please report it to EHS at 205-348-5905. Ckick here for AED locations.
The list will be updated as more buildings are added.
